Steve Shipps
Steve Shipps was an All-American High School Swimmer. He was a three time Class B Swimmer of the year in Michigan and won five individual state championship events.
At Michigan State University, he won four Varsity Letters and was All-American and All Big Ten in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
He pointed out that as swimming is not as well understood as some more popular spectator sports that many don't realize the heart, effort and sacrifice necessary to become a top swimmer.
Steve really enjoyed the team aspect of swimming - - working together and encouraging everyone to do their maximum.
He mentioned that he really wanted to have a selfie with Bob Every. To his surprise, Bob obliged him as he spoke!

He thanked his teammates and coaching for helping him to reach the success he had. He also thanked his parents for pushing him and making the sacrifices necessary so that he could put in the work to become the best he could be.
