Larry Bates
was a three time State Individual wrestling champion from Lansing Eastern High
School. In three years of varsity
wrestling, he lost only one match; he defeated that opponent in a rematch.
He also had
a career in coaching middle school and high school wrestling. His three middle school teams never lost a
match.
His remarks
were brief; he simply thanked the Hall of Fame for his induction.
